Namibia is suffering from the country’s worse brown locust pestilence in history. An estimated 3 million acres of crops has been razed in one agricultural region alone. The country (already with limited agricultural potential due to its topography) is just emerging from a six-year persistent drought and thus much assistance is needed.

HOW YOU CAN HELP!
Impacted local subsistence farmers need immediate assistance by means of feed for their animals until grazing is restored. This will have to be secured from regional farms, not affected by the locus plague.
KDI aims to raise at least US$ 280,000 for assistance to rural communities in the northern Namibia region. |
